What an amazing experience. My elderly father has Parkinson’s and we had a small dog with us that we could not leave in the car. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, setting up a table outside with a sun umbrella, providing water and all round excellent service. The food and coffee were first class and the patrons too were very friendly. Thank you L-G Cafe!

Fantastic coffee, amazing service and food that is baked fresh on site. One of my favorite cafes on the coast. The counter food selection has so much to choose from, sweet and savoury. The ham and cheese brioche scrolls are divine and one of my faves. Their breakfast bap looked amazing and is on my eye next time!

My son and I used to visit every Sunday when Lorna and Gary had this restaurant so were naturally saddened to see them go, and to find out – at that time – that the new owners were closed at the weekend.
We were pleased to find they were now open and gave it a whirl: I always have Eggs Benedict (and you wouldn’t believe the amount of places that can’t seem to get the eggs right….), and they were perfect. Solid whites, runny yolks. I WOULD have liked to see that they were free range though.
My son had The big Breakfast which really WAS a big breakfast – just think of everything you can, then add some!
The new owners were delightful, didn’t over hover (nothing worse) and were very friendly. Everything clean and water provided without asking.
There was the occasional middle eastern touch which was interesting and very welcome. Highly recommend.

Recommended by Mum. She’s been cooking for 90 years, and she loves the place. Mum had steak and kidney pie; I had the superb Club Sandwich. Great coffee. The staff are super friendly and attentive. Serves beer and wine. This is understandably a popular café with a sunny location and deserves the many 5-star ratings it has received. A gem for breakfast and lunch on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula!!
